115th Birthday for Fraternal Order of the Eagles

The Marceline Fraternal Order of the Eagles is inviting the community to join in its After Work Birthday Party on Wednesday evening.

Members and prospective members are invited to attend the celebration of the organization’s 115th year from 6:00 to 8:00 at the Marceline Aerie.  Initiation fees will be waived for the special event.

The group is an official sponsor of the local Girl Scouts troop, gives multiple scholarships to students every year, and supports the After Prom party.

Marceline, Mo. – Marceline Fraternal Order of Eagles #726 invites the community to join in celebrating 115 years of The Fraternal Order of Eagles during its After Work Birthday Party event, Wednesday, Feb. 6, from 6-8 p.m. at the Marceline Aerie, located at 301 N. Chestnut St.

The event is open to members and prospective members. Community members considering joining the Marceline F.O.E. are encouraged to attend as the Aerie and Auxiliary are waiving initiation fees for this special event.

Radio Station KDWD 99.1 will be on hand for the event as well as Brunswick Distributors. Drink specials include 75 cents off all drinks (excluding large Bud Light cans). Juicy Burgers and chips will be served and attendees are invited to bring along their favorite snack to share.

On Feb. 6, 1898, The Fraternal Order of Eagles was formed by a group of six theater owners in Seattle, Wash. Since then, the F.O.E. has played a role in the creation of Mother’s Day, Social Security and Medicare and donated millions of dollars to charities across the United States and Canada.

Everyone who attends will receive a free entry into a drawing for a one-night stay at the Isle of Capri in Boonville, Mo., plus two free farmer’s pick buffets. The winner will be chosen at 8 p.m. and you must be present to win.

The group is an official sponsor of a local Girl Scouts troop, a member of the Marceline Chamber of Commerce, gives multiple scholarships to local students each year, supports the local After Prom party and provides building space free of charge to numerous citizens for fundraising events. Members also make regular donations to bands, cheerleaders and various other groups within the schools.

The Marceline Eagles has maintained a presence in the community since 1904 and currently hosts nearly 500 Aerie and Auxiliary members.
