JEFFERSON CITY, MO – The Securities Division at the Missouri Secretary of State’s office has ordered an unregistered agent to desist.

According to a press release from Secretary, Jay Ashcroft’s office, Chadwick Brooks sold unregistered , and non-exempt securities to Missouri investors. He reportedly operated through six businesses throughout the U.S. From 2002 to 2013 Brooks did not disclose that he was not registered to offer or sell securities in Missouri. Payments to investors stopped in 2015 while Brooks severed all contacts.  His current location is believed to be the Republic of Panama.  The division seeks restitution and interest of over $2.3 million as well as civil penalties and investigation costs.

A statement from Securities Division says, investors should independently verify all investment opportunities, and the background of the individual and company before investing. Anyone with questions may contact an investor protection hotline, 800-721-7996, or go to their website, www.sos.mo.gov/securities.
