Missourians are being urged to share their stories and images of agriculture through photos in the 5th annual Focus on Missouri Agriculture photo contest. Last year more than 700 photos were submitted. The contest is open to amateur photographers of all ages across the state. Up to three photos can be entered in each of the five categories that include: The Beauty of the Farm, Faces of the Farm, The Farming Life and The Pride of the Farm. Children 12 and under can enter their photos in The Children’s Barnyard.
The contest runs through June 30th. Entries will be judged on visual impact, creativity, memorable content and image quality.
The first place winner in each of the four categories will receive an AgriMissouri gift basket valued at $100. The winner of the Children’s Barnyard will receive a gift basket filled with child-friendly items from AgriMissouri, also valued at $100. The Best of Show winners will get canvas prints of their winning photos.
Winners will be announced and the images will be on display during the 2014 State Fair, August 7-17 in the Agriculture Building.
A complete list and guidelines can be found here. Photos must be submitted no later than June 30th. To view all of the photos that are submitted visit the contest website as well as Missouri Department of Agriculture Flick stream.
