A pair of high school basketball playoff games are scheduled for tonight in Chillicothe as of right now. The Hale boys will be taking on Meadville at 6pm. The Norborne girls are set to face Meadville at 7:45. If the weather cancels the games tonight they will be played at the same time tomorrow evening. The Norborne vs. Meadville girls game will be broadcast on 103.9 The Grenade.

Tomorrow night the Lafayette County C-1 Huskers will face Butler at Smith-Cotton High School in Sedalia. That game is scheduled for 6pm tomorrow, and it will also be broadcast on The Grenade.

AMES, Iowa (AP) — Make it five straight wins for the sixth-ranked Kansas Jayhawks. Bill Self won his 500th game last night as Elijah Johnson scored a career-high 39 points in a 108-96 overtime win at Iowa State. Travis Releford added 19 as the Jayhawks snapped Iowa State’s 22-game home winning streak. Kansas is now 24-4.

MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) — Thomas Gipson scored 20 points and Angel Rodriguez added 16 as Kansas State beat Texas Tech 75-55 last night. That gives the 13th-ranked Wildcats 12 conference wins for the first time in 40 years. They’re still tied with number-six Kansas for first place in the Big 12. Kansas State improves to 23-5.

JUPITER, Fla. (AP) — Matt Holliday and Allen Craig each hit their first homers of spring training and the St. Louis Cardinals walloped the Houston Astros 10-2 in spring training action yesterday. Adam Wainwright pitched 2 2/3 innings, allowing four hits and striking out three.

SURPRISE, Ariz. (AP) — Billy Butler doubled and drove in three runs as the Kansas City Royals romped over the Arizona Diamondbacks 16-4. Non-roster invitees Max Ramirez and Adam Moore had back-to-back pinch-hit home runs in the fifth inning.
