A Callaway County crash sent three teenagers to the hospital

CALLAWAY COUNTY, Mo. – Three teenagers were injured when a pickup hit a utility pole and overturned in Callaway County Thursday night.

The Missouri Highway Patrol online report says Dylan Smith, 16, of Smithville was westbound on County Road 370, a half mile West of Old Highway 54, when he lost control around 10:25 last night. The pickup went off the left side of the roadway, struck a utility pole and rolled over.

Smith received minor injuries but his passengers, Sarah Colter, 16, and Kaitlyn Pearon, 14, both of New Bloomfield, received moderate injuries. All three were transported to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment.

The report says no one was wearing a seat belt during the crash.
