PETTIS COUNTY, Mo. – A motion hearing will take place this morning in Pettis County, so a defendant charged with sex crimes can change his attorney.
Attorney Standley Cox filed a motion to withdraw on October 11, 2018,the same day that the honorable J. Christopher Spangler filed an entry of appearance for Jon M. Wilson, 54, of Sedalia. Wilson is charged with two counts of statutory sodomy in the first degree for incidents that occurred as far back as 2006.
During the investigation, Wilson told detectives that he paid the victim’s mother $5,000 to keep the allegations quiet.
