Access II to Host Festival of Trees
Access II in Gallatin will kick off the holiday season Friday afternoon (Nov 30th) with the 2nd annual Festival of Trees. Spokesperson Licha Kelley-King says everyone is invited to come out and support the local cause.
“Have a carriage ride, do some of the pictures with Santa,” she encourages, “some things cost, some things do not.”
Attendees will also have the chance to purchase a variety of decorated Christmas trees in the silent auction.
“There’s a jewel hidden on one of the arrangements,” she says, “we don’t know which one actually has the jewel in it so not only will people be getting a tree but they’ll also be getting a jewel, a gemstone.”
Proceeds from the Friday night gathering go toward the non-residential care center.
“We deal with people with disabilities from birth to death, so we deal with all ages for different things.”
The festivities get underway at 5 o’clock.
Access II provides training for people with disabilities to help them gain skills that will enable them to live more independently.
