Accused Parent Has Hearing

A hearing for a Richmond resident accused in the beating death of his three-week old daughter will appear in a Ray County courtroom for a hearing at 9 a.m. Monday. Dennis Matthews, 25, is charged with abuse of a child – resulting in death. He and his wife, Rebecca, 24, were arrested after their daughter died at an area hospital in August.  The coroner’s report listed blunt force trauma to the chest and internal bleeding as the cause of death.
