The Central Missouri Agriculture Club will host the annual banquet and pie auction Saturday, January 26.  Committee Chairperson Janice Klenke says the event raises funds for young people in agriculture.

“The money,” she says “goes to give kids scholarships to go on to college.”

The group also uses the funds to “support the 4-H and FFA for their achievement days here at Sedalia at the fairgrounds in the summertime and then we also take third and fourth grade kids to Cole Camp during the old Settler days to learn about farming back when.”

It’s expected to be an evening full of activity and food.

“Come in and spend an evening eating pork, beef, potatoes.”  Klenke says it’s a “wonderful meal done by the pork place, come and support agriculture.”

Tickets are $15 and include dinner.  The event will be held at 6 o’clock in the Pork Place on the Missouri State Fairgrounds.
