COLUMBIA, Mo., Feb. 4, 2013 – Missouri Agricultural Leaders of Tomorrow (ALOT) is pleased to announce that DuPont Pioneer recently presented a $25,000 grant to support their 2013 leadership program.

ALOT is a two-year leadership program, attracting Missouri adults from across the state, representing rural and urban areas, including full-time farmers and agribusiness-oriented professionals.

“Agriculture’s greatest resources are those individuals with the leadership to responsibly influence the future,” said Kristin Perry, executive director of the ALOT program. “Farmers and ag professionals must be prepared for leadership roles in their communities, and beyond. ALOT provides these future leaders with the resources they need to effectively support Missouri’s agriculture industry, and we’re grateful for the support of DuPont Pioneer.”

The DuPont Pioneer grant will be directed toward the 2013 ALOT class to support the two-year program. Class participants will interact with community leaders representing not just agriculture, but government, education, law enforcement, philanthropy, health care and more. The program also includes travel to Washington, D.C., to experience firsthand our federal government process, as well as an international trip designed to complement the previous two year of study of local, state and national issues.

“Our growing global population presents challenges and tremendous opportunities for agriculture,” said Todd Frazier, DuPont Pioneer business director. “By supporting the next generation of agricultural leaders in Missouri, we can meet this challenge and effectively educate consumers on the significance of Missouri’s agriculture industry and rural communities.”

As the philanthropic arm of DuPont Pioneer, the DuPont Pioneer Giving Program makes contributions to community-based organizations on behalf of the business and employees.
