Animal Shelter Benefit in Lexington

Local residents have teamed up to put on a fundraiser for the Friends of the Friendless Animal Shelter on Saturday.  Click to hear KMZU’s Sarah Scott speak with Spokesperson Abigail Looney:

Looney got involved because her family has personal connections to the no-kill shelter.  “We have actually adopted several pit bulls from Friends of the Friendless, and so as big animal lovers we just wanted to find a way to help give back to them,” said Looney.

They hope to raise $1,500 dollars for the organization, which will be used to buy food for the animals and go toward a van to transport them.

The craft show, silent auction, on-site pet adoptions, and kids contest will be held Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Lexington High School.
