Fowler said the event will contain information for all levels of growers.  “We attempt to have something for beginners and for those that have been involved in fruit and vegetable production for several years,” said Fowler,”There will be some advanced sessions and then there will be some beginning-level sessions, also.”

According to the extension, it is always well-attended by growers from Missouri and numerous surrounding states.  “I believe this is the 17th year for the growers conference to be held in St. Joseph,” said Fowler,” The event will also include the trade show where we will have a number of industry folks and educational booths that help to support vegetable and fruit production.”

Topics for the sessions will include soil, irrigation, organic agriculture and urban and community gardening.

Pre-registration for the Thursday, Friday, and Saturday event is encouraged.  For more information, visit www.greatplainsgrowers.org or call the Buchanan County Extension Office at (816) 279-1691.
