An alleged gang that has been lying low in recent months is rumored to be behind Thursday morning’s break-in and house fire in Carrollton, according to an anonymous source.  Police Chief Donnie King said they do not have much evidence at this time to confirm or deny those rumors.  “There’s no link we can prove right now, but we aren’t ruling that out.  There are reasons to think that this house fire could be connected to the Red Knights.  They’re probably reforming.  They have not been too active because of the cold weather, but apparently that is a possibility,” King said.  Click to hear KMZU’s Mike Stone talk with Chief King:

The blaze broke out shortly before 1:30 a.m. at a home in the 300 block of East Third Street.  While crews were battling the fire, police were called to a reported break-in at a liquor store on Mason Street.  If you have any information, you’re being asked to contact the Carrollton Police Department at (660) 542-3128.
