The “Heroes in Action” anti-bullying program will be presented in Lexington Monday evening. Click to hear KMZU’s Kristie Cross talk to Superintendent Brad MacLaughlin:
The free event is designed for the entire community. “It’s built for multiple audiences, ” said MacLaughlin, “It’s suited to help our students, parents, and staff identify and respond to bullying behaviors that we see in our schools.”
When it comes to the kids, MacLaughlin said it is applicable to all age levels. “Mr. Amanat, who is an author about this topic, focuses on becoming advocates for others who are being bullied, “said MacLaughlin, ” Basically what it’s doing is teaching our kids to develop a community of response and protection for kids who either can’t or won’t protect themselves.”
The program will get underway at 6:30 at the Lexington Middle School. There is no charge for attendance. Dinner and childcare will be provided.
