FORSYTH, Mo. (AP) – A fourth person has been charged in the 2011 deaths of a southwest Missouri couple found shot and buried in Taney County after vanishing from their Greene County home. 31-year-old Windy Friend of Springfield was being held on $500,000 bond in the Taney County jail yesterday. She was indicted Wednesday on two counts of conspiracy to commit murder in the deaths of Rebecca and Russell Porter.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) – Arkansas-based Arvest Bank has announced an agreement in which it will purchase 29 banking locations in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Kansas from Bank of America Corporation. The locations include branches in Branson, Carthage, Joplin, Lebanon and Neosho, Missouri as well as locations in Pittsburg, Kansas.

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) – Supporters of Missouri proposals to change eminent domain laws now have the official go-ahead to begin working to get their measures on the 2014 ballot. The secretary of state’s office says four initiatives have been approved for circulation, allowing backers to begin collecting petition signatures.

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (AP) – Investigators in northwest Missouri are trying to identify a body discovered by trash haulers amid the debris of a burned-out garage. The remains were found yesterday morning inside a trash bin near the detached garage that burned down December 7th. An autopsy was scheduled for today.

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) – Missouri Governor Jay Nixon is promoting an associate circuit judge to a vacant judgeship in St. Louis. Elizabeth Byrne Hogan will become the judge in the 22nd Judicial Circuit, which covers the city of St. Louis.

ST. CHARLES, Mo. (AP) – Six elected officials in St. Charles County haven’t received a raise since 2007, but a proposal would increase their pay by 15 percent. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports Republican County Executive Steve Ehlmann has proposed the raises for himself and five others. But the pay raises won’t be effective until 2015.
