“We will start with the state senate and state representatives for our respective districts,” said Kappelman,” We will hear from the county commissioner for the northern district, as well as the southern, and then those seeking the offices of Lafayette County Sheriff, public administrator, treasurer, and assessor.  All of these individuals will address the voters and then any who may be opposed will be asked additional questions regarding their campaign.”

Kappelman added its a great opportunity for residents in the weeks just prior to the November election.  “They can’t make an informed decision unless they get to meet some of these candidates,” said Kappelman,” It’s a chance to see them face to face and talk to them directly.  We will have refreshments afterwards, so anyone who wants to stick around to talk to the candidates and find our their ideas on some of the issues, is welcome to do so.”

The event gets underway at 7:30 p.m. at the American Legion Hall located at 22nd and Plum in Higginsville.
