Area Men Indicted in Freight Theft Conspiracy

10 Kansas City area men have been indicted by a federal grand jury for their roles in a wide ranging conspiracy to steal freight trucks loaded with merchandise, including meat, beer, clothing and much more. From 2005 to 2011 the thefts totaled nearly one-million dollars. Defendants, 55-year-old Jon Dirk Dickerson of Raytown, and 30-year-old Kyle Wayne Dickerson of Holden were both in charge of disguising the stolen trailers, including altering the VIN numbers. The charges could bring penalties in the form of restitution from all 10 men totaling $991,234.
