JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster’s office is offering new consumer guidelines for members of the military and veterans.

“The Missouri Attorney General’s Office is committed to protecting those who protect us,” Koster stated in a release to the public.

The new 34-page publication includes information on predatory lending, identity theft, residential rental scams, and education fraud. The goal is to make servicemen and women aware of potential scams and provide tools to help if they fall victim.

“Unfortunately, scam artists often target members of the military and their families because of the extraordinary demands that military service can place on them, both domestically and overseas,” said Koster.

A copy of the guide can be downloaded at the Attorney General’s website. Individual printed copies can be obtained by contacted the Attorney General’s office at 800-392-8222.
