Authorities Attempt to Locate Stolen Vehicle, Assault Suspect

Update (6:33 a.m. – Saturday): Very few details have been released in connection to Friday’s pursuit. Repeated phone calls have not been returned by any of the law enforcement agencies involved. It is believed that the suspect is still at-large. The individual was last seen north of Marshall near Route O. KMZU News will continue to bring you updates as they become available.

Update (10:54 a.m.): Deputies with both the Lafayette and Saline County Sheriffs Departments and the Missouri State Highway Patrol continued the search Friday afternoon for a man they believed stole a vehicle from the Waverly area earlier in the day.  The individual is about 6 feet tall and 230 pounds.  He reportedly abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.  Anyone with information is asked to contact their local law enforcement agency.

Authorities are searching for a vehicle believed to have been stolen from the Waverly area around 9:30 a.m. Friday.  According to scanner traffic, the vehicle is described as a black 2001 Pontiac passenger vehicle, license plate number: PJ8-A8J.  It is being driven by a white male, about 6′ ft. tall, 230 pounds.  He was last seen wearing a white shirt and blue jeans.  The suspect is also said to be wanted in connection to an assault.  He is possibly headed to Marshall.  Anyone who sees this vehicle or suspect is being asked to contact their local law enforcement agency.
