Authorities Respond to Social Security Office

Update (1:10 p.m.) - The incident has been resolved.  According to the Highway Patrol, the law enforcement presence was due to a routine traffic stop.  The U.S. Social Security Administration office was not involved. 

Heavy police presence has been reported at the U.S. Social Security Administration Office on Mitchell Avenue in Chillicothe.

The road is shut down at this time.

A spokesperson for the Missouri State Highway Patrol confirmed there is activity in the area, but no further information could be released at this time.
