A drug case started in February has reached an end. Christopher Zevecke, 31, was arrested earlier this year after deputies served a warrant on his Bates City residence and found a marijuana-growing operation. Zevecke was charged with six felonies.

At Monday’s court appearance, he pleaded guilty to possession ad distribution of a controlled substance, and the State dropped the other five counts. At the State’s recommendation, Judge Dennis Rolf sentenced Zevecke to 12 years in the Department of Corrections.
