HARRISON COUNTY, Mo. — A rollover crash west of Bethany left a driver from Bethany in critical condition Tuesday morning.

A report from the Missouri Highway Patrol indicates the accident happened on Highway 136 about four miles west of Bethany at roughly 8:40 a.m. Tuesday in Harrison County.

A vehicle driven by 26-year-old Kayla M. Ramey was eastbound on 136 when she lost control on the ice-covered roadway, causing Ramey to lose control of her vehicle and slide off the north side of the road.

Ramey’s vehicle then collided with a mailbox and an embankment, resulting in the vehicle becoming airborne, striking the ground and rolling into a fence, coming to rest on its top.

Ramey suffered serious injuries despite wearing a seat belt, according to the Highway Patrol. She was taken to the Harrison County Hospital before being transported by air ambulance to KU Medical Center in Kansas City to receive care.
