A red carpet event is being held Saturday at Bishop Hogan Memorial School in Chillicothe. The Hollywood themed soiree titled, “Rolling Out the Red Carpet for Catholic Education,” will feature live and silent auctions as well as a dinner. Brobst said the 10th annual event is the school’s biggest fundraiser. “This event helps support the school financially and also unites the community,” Brobst added. “We still have the high standards of education we want for our students. We want to keep our technology upgraded. We need materials each year so we can do a top-notch job of teaching kids. It is a challenge sometimes to maintain those standards when we don’t have the state funding. We definitely look to these kinds of fundraisers to operate all year long.”
Doors open at 4 p.m. “We have seven classrooms of items for the silent auction. The first room will close at 6:30, and then every 20-minutes another room will close,” Brobst explained.
A meal consisting of glazed shrimp, top sirloin, potatoes, salad and bread sticks will be served at 6:30 p.m. The live auction is slated to follow at 7:30 p.m. A number of items have been donated including a zero-turn lawn mower, vacation packages, jewelry, and water park season passes.
Advanced tickets are available at Bishop Hogan Memorial School for $8 or at the door on Saturday for $9.
