Black Baseball League History Presenation

A special presentation on the history of African-American baseball is being held in Lexington Saturday afternoon. Click to hear KMZU’s Mike Stone speak with Resource Manager Janae Fuller:

It will focus on teams from the Kansas City area, especially the Kansas City Monarchs. The presenter is Phil Dixon, an expert on black history topics.

“He’ll be speaking quite a bit about some of the local personalities that played in the Kansas City Monarchs Association,” said Fuller. “And he’ll probably have photographs. He’s doing a PowerPoint program.”

The lecture is free and is expected to run about an hour. The free presentation gets underway at 1:00 at the Battle of Lexington State Historic Site visitor Center.
