Blackburn Teen Injured in Alleged DWI Wreck

A Blackburn man is facing possible DWI and leaving the scene of an accident charges after his alleged run in with a ditch this past Sunday. According to the Saline County Sheriff’s Office a deputy was dispatched to Highway 20 and Main Street in Blackburn just after midnight Sunday morning. Once on scene a witness informed the deputy a younger man had crashed his pick up in the ditch and stumbled off to the northwest. After an investigation and search of the area, police found 19-year-old Bobby Balcom passed out in his trailer. The deputies called EMT’s to the scene to treat Balcom. He was transported to Fitzgibbon Hospital for treatment. Formal charges are pending.
