Blue Springs Man Identified, Charged in Deadly Chase

A Blue Springs man implicated in the death of his passenger Sunday night has been identified. According to court documents, 29-year-old Michael Garzee faces manslaughter and resisting arrest charges in the deadly high speed chase. Lake Tapawingo Police initiated a traffic stop due to Garzee allegedly speeding. Authorities say Garzee was allegedly drunk and refused to stop accelerating away from police who pursued him into Blue Springs. At Southwest 40 and Southwest 19th Garzee lost control of the vehicle which then hit a light pole killing his passenger, 29-year-old Dustin Wardlow. Garzee is incarcerated and the prosecution has asked for a bond amount of $250,000.
