The Sweet Springs Board of Aldermen held a special meeting Thursday night.  The MFA Coop plans to demolish an elevator in the 100 block of North Miller Street.  They requested permission from the City to close that portion of Miller Street for 30 days.

At the recommendation of Mayor Raymond Kinney, the Board approved the closure for three weeks, and will revisit the issue at their July 8th meeting.  While closed the contractor, Earth Works, Inc., will provide lighted barricades and construction zone netting.  They are insured for any accidental damage to street surfaces or city property.

Emergency services have been notified of the closure.
