MARC will provide a $16,500 grant for the Davis Senior Center.

The Board also approved a letter of intent to participate in a yard waste program. “They’re going to apply for a grant from the Solid Waste District for a yard waste site that would be a partnership among Jackson County, Blue Springs, Grain Valley, and Oak Grove,” said Craig, “The facility would be located off of Pink Hill and Ketterman roads, off of H Highway North of I-70.” The grant application will be submitted in September.

Three police officers were also sworn in during Monday’s meeting. One will be full-time, and two will serve as reserve officers.
