Board Approves Economic Development Agreement

The Higginsville Board of Aldermen had several items on their agenda this week.  Click to hear KMZU’s Sarah Scott talk to City Administrator Lee Barker:

First on the agenda was discussion regarding an agreement with Sterling Consulting Group.  “That agreement was approved, so Sterling will take up our economic development plan, “said Barker, ” We are in place with Zimmer Group which is also doing Saline County, but Sterling will gather a lot of data for the study and put some of that together.”

The mayor also made several appointments to various boards this week.  “The the Lafayette County Extension Service he named Doris Graham, ” said Barker, “To the Industrial Development Authority was Peggy Coppleman and to the Fair Housing Commission he appointed Christina LaZowski.  The final name  was John DeHaven to the Park Board.”

The board also approved the hire of a part-time paramedic.
