“One of the biggest issues of the evening will probably be an item that comes from the planning and community develop department,” said Holmes,” We are taking under consideration of the hiring of a director for this position. This is an actual field of training. You can go to college to become a city or urban planner. A lot of what this position does is it looks at long range planning for the city, land use developments, helps with building permit coordination, community redevelopment, and economic development.”

Additional items up for discussion include the relation of an emergency siren in the downtown area and a vacation request from Family Dollar.

The Meeting is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at the Dyer Park Community Building.
