Body Found in Platte Co.

Update: (5:45 p.m.) Press Release from the Platte Co. Sheriff’s Office

On September 12, 2013 at approximately 10:30 AM the Platte County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a body that was discovered by a fisherman along the Missouri River.  The fisherman spotted the body along the shoreline.  Due to the rough terrain along the river it took some time to get to the location of the body.  The area where the body was found is in the unincorporated area of Platte County, near the township of Waldron, Missouri.  The only known information about the body at this time is that it is a male.  The cause of death or how the body ended up where it did is unknown.

The Platte County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death.  Further information will be released as it develops.

The Platte County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that a body has been found this (Thu) morning along the north shoreline of the Missouri River near I-435.

It is reported to be the body of an unidentified male.

An area resident called the Kansas City Ks. Police initially but the investigation is being handled by Platte County authorities.
