Investigators are still awaiting the DNA test results for a body found in Chariton County in March. An autopsy in early early April was inconclusive, and did not provide a positive identification.
DNA results were originally expected in mid-May, but it is no longer clear when they will be completed.
Online entries from the family of a missing Laclede woman indicate the remains were found near her vehicle. One post reads:
Getting closer… Maybe a few more weeks and they might have a DNA profile from the remains that were found with mamaw’s car; to hopefully match with the one from her toothbrush.
That post and others can be found on Facebook.
Law enforcement has not confirmed any connection between the missing 82-year-old and the body discovered by a hunter on March 29th, 2013.
