Boone Co. Car Chase

A routine traffic stop in Columbia turned into a high speed chase for Boone County deputies Friday night just before 10 o’clock. According to the report a vehicle near New Haven and Warren Drive committed a moving violation. The deputy initiated a traffic stop but the suspect vehicle fled east on New Haven before eventually being stopped by spike strips near the Arbor Falls Subdivision. The driver fled the vehicle but was apprehended almost immediately. The driver has been identified as 23-year-old Daniel Peek of Columbia. He’s charged with resisting arrest, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, careless & imprudent driving and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. He was placed in the Boone County Jail on just over $10-thousand in bond. A passenger in the vehicle, 35-year-old Daria Littelton, also of Columbia, was cited for misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia before being released.
