UPDATE – Authorities working ‘active crime scene’ at Miami Access in Saline Co.

UPDATE: 2/26 – The nature of a crime scene investigation over the weekend was reported by Saline County Sheriff. According to deputies, a truck that was pulled from the Missouri river access near Miami Saturday, had been reported stolen. Deputies say, the 1973 grain truck belonged to a resident of Malta Bend. No person of interest has been located as a result of the investigation.

(02/24/2018) 01:13 p.m. – Authorities have now confirmed there was a vehicle submerged in the river at Miami Access. An older style grain truck was pulled from the river just after 12 p.m. There was no one inside and the investigation is on going. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Missouri State Highway Patrol or Saline Co. Sheriff’s Office.

SALINE COUNTY, Mo. – What’s being called an active crime scene at the Miami Access to the Missouri River on Highway 41 on the Saline County side involves an investigation into a partially submerged vehicle.

Emergency crews were called to the location sometime after 10 a.m. Saturday, February 24, 2018.

Water rescue has been called in but no other details are available at his time. The scene is being worked by the Saline Co Sheriff’s Office and members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
