UPDATE: BREAKING NEWS — I-70 westbound reopens after Thursday morning crash

UPDATE: 7:20 a.m., 9/6/2018 — Both lanes of Interstate 70 westbound are open after emergency crews cleared a crash in Boone County Thursday. 

It was not immediately clear if anyone involved in the crash was injured. Further information will be provided as it becomes available.

BOONE COUNTY, Mo. — KMZU News has confirmed a crash on Interstate 70 in Boone County is obstructing part of the roadway.

A spokesperson for the Missouri Highway Patrol said that emergency personnel are currently en route to the scene of the crash on I-70 westbound at the 115 mile marker, near Highway BB and Katy Trail, about six miles west of Columbia near the Missouri River bridge.

The crash was reported around 6:45 a.m. Injury information is not known at this time.

The westbound lanes of traffic are currently partially blocked and delays are possible in the area. Drivers should exercise caution and plan alternative routes if possible.
