UPDATE – BREAKING NEWS: Motor vehicle collision on 65 Highway south of Marshall cleared

Update: 01/23/17, 12:00 p.m. — Emergency crews have cleared the roadway and traffic is now flowing normally. It was not immediately clear if anyone involved was injured.

SALINE COUNTY, Mo. — KMZU News has confirmed reports of a motor vehicle collision on 65 Highway at the south end of Marshall.

According to a spokesperson for the Missouri Highway Patrol, both lanes of 65 Highway at the intersection of Fairground Road near Fitzgibbon Hospital are blocked due to a two-vehicle collision.

Reports indicate one vehicle on the east side of the roadway flipped onto its top and a second badly damaged vehicle is blocking traffic in the northbound lane. Emergency personnel are at the scene, however it was unclear if anyone in the area was injured in the accident.

Drivers should avoid the area as congestion has begun to pile-up. Delays are expected.
