Two semi trucks crash near Higginsville junction on I-70

UPDATE:  7 p.m. – Lanes on I-70 at 13 junction are back open.  Highway Patrol described the crash as non-injury.

HIGGINSVILLE, MO – Westbound I-70 is closed according to one witness, at the Higginsville junction due to an accident.

Missouri Highway Patrol states officers are deployed on both sides of the interstate. The crash reportedly involves two tractor trailers. At least one lane is blocked and traffic is backed up on WB I-70 for at least one mile, according to one witness. MOdot’s website says the crash happened around 3:30 p.m. The westbound lanes are reported closed at mile marker 49.4 to the Higginsville, Warrensburg exit.

Motorists are urged to use caution approaching Higginsville junction on I-70, and prepare to be diverted, or find an alternate route.
