Brookfield Woman Injured, Then Charged

A one vehicle crash has sent a Brookfield resident to the hospital, and could land them in jail. The highway patrol reports that a vehicle being driven southbound ran off the left side of highway 11 at the Linn Chariton County line. It then struck an embankment and overturned. The driver, 24-year-old Dustie Howard suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Pershing Hospital, then later air lifted to University Hospital in Columbia. After an investigation, Howard was charged with alleged DWI, prior offender and no insurance along with two traffic infractions. She was released to the care of the hospital.
