Brooks Pleads Guilty

A Marshall man has pleaded guilty to second-degree assault.  Robert Brooks, 29, admitted to striking and kicking victim Michael Gilliand repeatedly on June 25th.  Gilliand sustained serious injuries.  There were several others involved in the attack.

Brooks is currently on parole.  A Ray County Judge sentenced Brooks to seven years in the Department of Corrections, suspended execution of sentence.  He will spend the next five years on probation and must complete 100 hours of community service.
