Buchanan County accident results in slew of charges for St. Joseph man

BUCHANAN COUNTY, Mo. — The Highway Patrol responded to a crash in St. Joseph at about 1:55 a.m. Saturday, according to an accident report.

A vehicle driven by James Moore, 46, of St. Joseph,  failed to yield to an emergency vehicle traveling westbound on Karnes Street in St. Joseph.

The vehicle traveled off the south side of the roadway, struck two mailboxes, returned to the roadway before traveling off the north side and striking two trees.

Moore received serious injuries in the single-vehicle wreck. He was transported by EMS to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph for treatment.

In addition, he faces a felony allegation of driving while intoxicated, as well as accusations of failure to drive on the right half of the roadway, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and careless and imprudent driving involving a crash, among others. Formal charges are currently pending.
