RAY COUNTY, Mo. — A burn ban is in effect for the entirety of Ray County.

A news release from Wood Heights Fire Protection District Chief Lee O’Dell indicates the ban will go into effect immediately, from 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, and will remain in effect until further notice.

O’Dell noted extremely dry conditions and temperatures approaching 100 degrees Fahrenheit led officials to institute the burn ban.

The ban will be lifted when conditions improve.
