Burn Bans May Return to Area

Wright said conditions have not improved as much as preferred.  “There’s still a lot of dead vegetation,” said Knouse,” If it stays as dry as it is, I would expect that we’re going to hit that cycle again where we’re going to need to place a ban on the burning.”

According to Wright, there is no certain date in mind for the action at this time. “That’s just pretty difficult to gauge,” said Wright,” We have some rain chances in the next few days and that could change everything.  Humidity levels, wind speeds, and the amount of natural cover fires factor into that decision.”

The last ban in the county was lifted during the month of September.
