LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Mo. — A sentence has been handed down in a Lafayette County drug trafficking case.
Lafayette County Prosecuting Attorney Kristen Ellis Hilbrenner announced Monday that Sunland, California resident Rhonda Stewart, 54 entered into a plea agreement in April, changing her plea to guilty over a felony charge of trafficking a controlled substance in the second degree.
The charge was filed after a traffic stop allegedly uncovered more than 115 grams of methamphetamine, marijuana, marijuana seeds and drug paraphernalia in Stewart’s vehicle.
The sentence handed down June 4 will require Stewart to spend 20 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections.
Stewart is currently in custody at the Women’s Eastern Reception Diagnostic & Correctional Center.
