Carroll Co. Murder Case Hearing This Week

A Carrollton man, charged with statutory rape and murder is scheduled for a hearing Tuesday morning.  Theopolis Johnson II, 43, is accused of killing Kayla Cowan and her mother Kristen Howery at a rural Carroll County home in October of 2011.  He was initially charged with rape, but Prosecuting Attorney Cassandra Brown filed an additional rape charge and two counts of first-degree murder earlier in 2012. Johnson’s bond is set at $1 million. His hearing gets underway at 9 a.m.
