The board will consider an agreement that would allow them to collaborate with the Norborne School District from a sports perspective.  “We are just in an exploration phase at this point,” said DeLany,” Norborne has asked if our district is interested in co-oping with them on baseball.  Greg Hough, who is our athletic director and dean of students, as well as Mike Lock, who is Norborne’s athletic director, will be at the meeting to give our board members some information regarding the pros and cons for both districts.”

Also on the agenda is the consideration of a resolution to refund a series of 2008 lease certificates.  According to DeLany, the $1.5 million was used for the improvement of facilities.  “In the spring of 2013, it will have been five years and that gives us the opportunity to see if we want to refinance,” said DeLany,” With the really low rates, that is something we are interested in doing.  If they approve this, the board of education can save the district approximately $170,000 plus pay it off early.”

The board will  hear the financial report and first quarter update from the superintendent, as well as administrators’ reports.

The meeting is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium of the administration building.
