The Carrollton Public Library may soon have a “Friends of the Library” group.  Click to hear KMZU’s Chelsea Wade speak with Director Sue Lightfoot:

They will hold an organizational meeting next Wednesday.  She encourages people with a wide variety of backgrounds to attend.

“The more flavor you get, the more ideas, and the ability to bounce off those ideas and actually do fundraisers that might be a little bit different or unusual,” said Lightfoot, “Basically grabbing everybody’s attention, saying, ‘Hey! This is what the library’s doing; this is what we’re working for.’  And that’s basically part of this initial meeting.”

A guest speaker from the Friends of the Livingston County Library Friends Group will give a presentation.  That starts at 9:00 next Wednesday morning in the basement of the Carrollton Public Library.  Everyone is invited.

The Carrollton Public Library invites  you to attend an organizational meeting to form a Friends of the Library group.  Guest speaker will be Kris Daniel, Past President of the Livingston County library Friends Group.  Kris is well rehearsed in forming non-profit organizations and will present the initial steps for a successful Friends group to benefit the Carrollton Public Library.  Please join in this organizational meeting on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 9 a.m. in the lower level of the library in the conference Room, One North Folger Street on the Carrollton square.
