A Carrollton woman accused of starting a fire at a local bar and restaurant appeared in court Wednesday morning.  Tiffany Chilton, 24, has been charged with arson in connection to the blaze that engulfed The Viking Club in August.

KMZU originally reported a public defender had been excused from this case.  Following conversations with a family member, it has been determined that, although Chilton did apply for those services, she did not meet the qualifications and has hired private counsel.

She will next appear for a preliminary hearing on Feb. 20.  Chilton was released from jail after posting  a $25,000 corporate surety bond in November.
