The Richmond Area Chamber of Commerce heard a presentation on Enhanced Enterprise Zones Thursday. Click to hear KMZU’s Marie King speak with Mid-American Regional Council Spokesperson Molly McGovern:
Ray County is in the process of forming their own Enhanced Enterprise Zone, which is a program through the Missouri Department of Economic Development.
“It is a business incentive program. Its purpose is to provide tax credits and property tax abatement to new or expanding businesses,” said McGovern.
More than 100 EEZs already exist in the state of Missouri. Several counties surrounding Ray, including Lafayette, Clay, and Carroll Counties already have Enhanced Enterprise Zones in place.
