Now is a good time to replace the batteries in smoke alarms. Stats indicate 60-percent of all fire deaths in the U.S. between 2007 and 2011 happened in homes that either had no smoke alarm or it didn’t work. Fire officials say there’s an easy way people can remember to keep their alarm in good working order. Just check it and change the batteries twice a year, when the time changes. The time will spring forward tonight.
