RAY COUNTY, Mo. —¬†An arraignment was continued in Ray County Tuesday morning, but not before the prosecuting attorney asked for a change of judge.

During the hearing for 29-year-old Tiffany M. Gorham, of Lawson a not guilty plea was entered on 26 felony counts of child abuse or neglect without sexual contact.

Gorham and her husband, 30-year-old Joseph Gorham were charged after their children reported being taped inside boxes and struck with a special paddle as punishment over an extended period of time.

Gorham also asked for and was granted a public defender to represent her.

A new judge is expected to be appointed before the next scheduled hearing on Monday, December 18.
